Teaching Tots

Using the provided InDesign files and stock illustrations, I had to design a cover and spread for a book in the First Words Book series. I could use my own fonts, style and any background imagery.

Little Hippo Books provided me with several animal illustrations as well as the text to go onto a book cover and inside spread for a teaching tots book. I chose to show two scenes of animals in their natural habitats. Along where the page would be folded, I used a tree illustration to unite the two different habitats.

In a similar fashion for the front and back covers I depicted the animals in the wild contained within bubbles. The content of the text was provided so I had made the decision to make the text and title multicolored to show how the inside of the book would be colorful and playful. While I did not receive the job, I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to show my design skills.
